1.What is the difference between fat and cellulite?
Everyone has a smooth layer of fat under the skin which acts as insulation, and cushions the organs, muscles and nerves. Cellulite is lumpy and provides no benefit. It tends to occur in mainly the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and breasts.
2. What causes cellulite?
- Genetic predisposition to fat accumulation
- Weight gain
- Crash diets
- Poor nutrition
- Skin structure
- Hormonal changes
- Lack of exercise
- Smoking
3. What is Beautytek?
Beautytek is a non-invasive body sculpting technique using state of the art technology. It offers a safe and pain-free alternative to surgical body shaping procedures.
4. How does it work?
A very low-frequency electrical impulse is passed into the body. As the stimulus is transferred to each specific area with the use of a variety of hand-held wands, the Beautytek computer monitors the body’s reaction so that the treatment is constantly adjusted to achieve energetic balance, precisely calibrated for each individual at that point in time.
5. What happens to the treated area?
Various changes occur:
- The lymphatic pathways are stimulated to help flush away unwanted water and toxins
- Water balance is regulated
- Fatty tissue is dehydrated
- Fatty clusters are decomposed
- Blood vessels open to increase blood flow which helps delivers nutrients to the tissue.
6. How many treatments will I need and how soon will I see results?
We advise an initial course of 12 treatments to optimize the treatment and show dramatic results, although many people can see changes after just one session. Your therapist will assess your individual needs at your consultation.
7. How often do I need treatment?
To achieve the optimal results, we advise 2 treatments per week, with at least one whole day in between (e.g. Wednesday followed by Friday).
8. How long does the treatment take?
A treatment normally lasts around 60 minutes. The face and leg treatments are longer.
9. What does the treatment feel like?
The treatment is completely painless. Some patients may feel a slight tingling sensation at times. Generally, it feels like you are having a light massage and is pleasant to experience.
10. Are there any side effects?
Although you can achieve dramatic results comparable to invasive surgery, you do not have an uncomfortable recovery period. You may have a desire to go the toilet more frequently during and after treatment. This is perfectly normal and indicates that the treatment is having a desired effect and waste products are being transported out of your body.
11. How do I know if I am suitable for treatment?
You need to have a consultation with the therapist who will explain the treatment to you and assess the area(s) you wish to treat. You will be advised what to expect and what the treatment schedule will be.There are certain medical conditions which will prevent you from having this treatment and this will be discussed in your consultation.
12. How long do the results last?
As long as you maintain a sensible diet and exercise regime, the results are permanent. Once the desired result has been achieved, we advise that you undertake maintenance treatments every 3-4 months to ensure long-lasting effects.
